RSS and Aggregators Blog Post

By shelby

Recently I did some research on RSS Aggregators. I have never before heard of these so here is what I found. To aggregate means to combine or collect something. So an aggregator is a message from multiple sources. If a user subscribes to one they can pull up information at the users will. An example may include IM or email. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aggregator)

Some good RSS feeds are NewzCrawler, FeedDemon, Google Reader, Bloglines, and Newsgator. There are a lot out there, but these are some that have good reviews. (http://websearch.about.com/od/dailywebsearchtips/qt/dnt0403.htm, http://email.about.com/od/rssreaderswin/tp/top_rss_windows.htm)

In order to find an RSS feed that you you will enjoy reading you can use a directory. Some directories include: http://www.syndic8.com/, http://www.newsisfree.com/, and http://blogstreet.com/rssdiscovery.html.
